Queen or King of The Jungle...Baby shower

Welcome a brand new baby boy or a baby girl with jungle decorations and animal prints. This is a perfect theme when the parents are waiting to find out the gender of the baby. It's also great for couples baby showers.

Use balloons, palm trees, lanterns, leis, wrap gifts with animal printed giftwrap. You can even pick one animal, like monkeys for example, and do your whole jungle theme around monkeys to welcome the little monkey!

The jungle theme also works for the baby showers where you do know the gender of the baby because any bright color works. If it's a girl go with mostly pink and orange or for a boy, green and blue. The baby shower below was for a girl so green balloons were used for palm trees and to create the look of foliage, but pink and orange were used almost as much in the favors, centerpieces, gift wrap and lanterns.

Welcome Baby Girl!!! A+ for presentation at this baby shower. Not only was the table decked out with layered plastic tablecovers, they even placed boxes underneath to create height and different levels to display amazing cheesecakes. These girls really know how to treat their guests! Who doesn't love Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake?!

Blumeboxes, ribbon and other darling decorations were displayed to tie in the New Pink, Bright Pink, and Kiwi decor. What a happy, festive welcome for their new baby niece.

Mod Mom Baby Shower

Okay, so you have offered to give a baby shower for your best friend and you're having a hard time deciding on the theme you want to use.

Don't stress! Our Mod Mom Baby shower pattern is perfect! The expectant mother is the star of this modern, whimsical pattern. It is also a great choice because the selection within the pattern is so complete. You won't have to worry about what to do because the Mod Mom Pattern has everything for you! You'll love the colors, pink, lavender and green!

The collection includes invitations, baby announcements and thank-you notes, so no worries about any of those things.

There are decorations, as in, a centerpiece, hanging cutouts, a giant party banner, a flag banner. There's a yard sign and metallic confetti for your table or to add to your favors. And speaking of favors, there are mini Mod Mom favor bags that you can fill with candy and nuts or whatever!

When it comes to games, don't stress about what to do, there are Mod Mom bingo cards and a game book that contains 5 party games!

The tableware is no problem either, choose from plates in two sizes, napkins in two sizes, cups, plastic or paper and there's even a table cover.
There is a keepsake registry, to keep track of who gave what, a scrapbook kit so you can even make scrapbook pages to match the shower! And there are the cutest name tags that could also be used as lables.

Add some balloons and maybe some crepe paper streamers and you are set... the shower you give will be fabulous and your friend will be thrilled!

Ideas for Perfect Baby Shower Tableware

Details!!!

Make the baby shower you are throwing complete and unforgettable by paying attention to every detail starting with your tablesetting.

After you've chosen your theme and color scheme start with your tablecover. Your tablecover will be your base for everything sitting on the table. Since there are so many different tablecovers to choose from and because the color of your tablecover will be the largest amount of color showing it is important to choose carefully.

CHOICES FOR TABLECOVERS

  • plastic tablecovers (See solid color tableware)

  • better than linen tablcovers (white paper tablecovers made to look like linen)

  • metallic tablecovers

  • irridescent tablecovers

  • printed theme tablecovers (See baby shower tablware)

Next choose a tableskirt to match your tablecover. Almost all of the different tablecovers have a tableskirt to match except printed tablecovers and in that case you can choose a solid color tableskirt to match a printed tablecover. Tableskirts can be used over the top of the tablecover or underneath.

Colored paper placemats look great under each tablesetting and add more color. Maybe use a bright pink placemat on a pale pink tablecover.

When setting the plates you can add detail by stacking a small 7" patterned paper plate on top of a 9" solid color paper plate.

PERSONALIZED NAPKINS

You can order personalized napkins in a luncheon or beverage size. These napkins can be printed with two lines of wording. For example you could say "welcome baby" on one line and the baby's name on the next.

CENTERPIECE

  • balloons make a great centerpiece because they add so much color and make a big statement. Weight them down with a matching balloon weight.
  • glass or plastic pedestals can be filled with m&ms, mints or any candy to match your color scheme

NOVELTY ITEMS

  • Placecards can be used at each tablesetting and are available in most babyshower themes.
  • Favors can be put at each tablesetting. Fill little baby bottles with m&ms.
  • Confetti can be sprinkled around the table.
  • Doiles of different sizes look great placed randomly around the table.
  • Tulle can be tied around each chair with a big bow in back.

Baby Shower Tableware Ideas

Baby Shower Tableware

When setting a table for a baby shower I like to first decide the way the meal or appetizers will be served. Sometimes I like my guests to sit down together around the table to eat. But sometimes it's easier to do it buffet style so guests are free to walk around and socialize..

BUFFET STYLE

Here are some tips for a buffet style baby shower setting...

  • Choose the colors and theme of your baby shower.
  • Choose the space like a counter top or table top to decorate and serve your food from.
  • Decide which color or colors you would like as your base or tablecover. You could use placemats, doiles, a tablecover or all three.
  • Now decide the order you would like things layed out for guests to gather their plates, cutlery, cups, napkins and food.
  • Then place your centerpiece in a place that doesn't interfere with the food and tableware. I like to use balloons tied to a balloon weight as a centerpiece that way the centerpiece won't take up too much room on the table and you'll have more room for the yummy food!
  • When laying out the food and tableware it looks great to put things at different heights. For example... Put the stack of napkins on a plastic pedestal tray then the plates on a taller pedestal etc.
  • Sprinkle baby shower confetti all over the table (do this before you put the food out so it doesn't get on the food).

TABLE SETTING FOR GUESTS TO DINE TOGETHER

I like to do things basically the same as the buffet style table but it will be a little different because your place settings will need to be put exactly where you want people to sit. Here are some tips and ideas...

  • Use paper placemats in your color theme.
  • Use cute baby shower place card holders.
  • Place a baby shower favor at each place setting. Clear plastic booties or bottles make great candy holders for favors. Tulle favor bags are also perfect.
  • Layer the plates at each table. Place a larger, solid colored plate underneath a 7" or 9" patterned plate.
  • Put napkins inside of the cups with the napkin showing at the top.
  • Don't forget a matching tableskirt!

Choose Balloons! Decorating, Gift Giving etc.

A few of my favorite things... Balloons, balloons, balloons! Why? Cuz a party isn't a party without the balloons. BUT, balloons aren't JUST for parties. I like to give them as gifts, congratulations, get well wishes, thank yous, or just to brighten someone's day. You can't get more BRIGHT than a balloon bouquet.

DECORATE WITH BALLOONS
  • Balloon arches
  • Balloon bouquets...

- Centerpieces for weddings, birthdays, ANY event or just for fun!

- Tape or secure them to the ends of a stage

- Tape or secure a huge bouquet to the floor in an entry way

or anywhere.

  • Float them in a pool using just air.

Balloons can be elegant or fun but, one thing is always certain they are sure to brighten any occasion and everyone's mood.

GIFT GIVING...

  • Congratulations

-arrival of a brand new baby tip: you can't take latex balloons into the hospital, just mylar

- a new job or promotion

- anniversaries

  • Birthday

- childs birthday

- adult birthday

  • Goodbye
  • Retirement
  • Thank you
  • Get well
  • Good luck
  • You're appreciated
  • To cheer you

BALLOONS VS. FLOWERS

Why balloons are better (in my opinion of course)...
  • NO water required.
  • Balloons make a statement and show your personal style. You can't miss a bouquet of balloons when trying to find the birthday party at a restaurant.
  • Flowers usually wilt and die quickly but, mylar balloons, or latex balloons with hi float, can last much longer.
  • Balloons are usually much less expensive.
  • Balloons add much more color cuz they're BIGGER!
  • Balloons take up more space so it's easier to get the look you want with less.

Ideas To Add Detail To Your Tablesetting

So, you've picked out your party theme and color scheme. How bout some finishing touches for your tablesetting?! Here are some ideas ...

  • Layer plates by placing a small patterned 7" plate on top of a solid colored 9" or 10" plate. This adds color and really makes the top plate stand out.
  • Unfold a napkin and bunch it up to put inside a cup. This is done by gathering up the once folded end so that the top fluffs out like a flower. Then place the bottom in the cup so fluffed part of the napkin is coming out of the top of the cup.
  • Use paper placemats. Placemats also help to add color and make the place setting stand out.
  • Did you remember a centerpiece? I love to use balloons as my centerpiece. Just make sure they are tied high enough so that guests can still see each other and chat across the table.

Tips and Ideas For Decorating With Tulle

Tulle brings a soft, elegant feel to any party.

Comes in three sizes...
10 yds x 54" - (avail. in pink, blue, white, ivory) Use to drape around a doorway. Tie around the back of chairs to make a big bow in back.
Hang or drape it from the ceiling. Tie to banisters to make a bunting look.

9" tulle circles - Use for favors at any party. Place candy in the middle then tie a bow using ribbon to tie it in place.

6" x 25 yds tulle spools - Tie bows on a chandelier or banister. Use to tie around a gift. Drape from chandeliers.

Extravagant Baby Showers At A Low Cost

Welcome the brand new baby boy or girl in style!

Start with a personalized printed shower invitation.

Hint: When choosing an invitation for a baby or bridal shower I also look at wedding invitations because sometimes the colors I'm looking for are on a wedding invitation.

Lately I've been going with the latest trend "brown". The color brown is perfect for baby showers when used with pink OR blue. For example I like to use either pink or blue polka dot napkins and plates with a brown tablecover.

I love to use tulle whenever possible. A large spool 10 yds x 54" is great to drape frome doorways or to tie a big bow around the back of a chair. Use the smaller tulle spools to tie bows on the banister. Tulle circles can be used for favors.

Great favor ideas..
Make a candy favor using clear fillable baby bottles. Then tie a bow around the top of each with simply sheer ribbon.
Tulle 9" circles are also great to fill with candy. Just wrap the tulle around the candy and tie a bow with simply sheer ribbon.
3x4" favor pouches make a great favor holder.

Games...
Baby Shower Bingo
Baby Trivia...cards with questions to break the ice at any baby shower.
Baby Shower Game Books... contain all you need to to get your baby shower off to a fast and funny start!

Blush Dots and Stripes

I love this pattern! Not just because of the great colors, pink and brown, but because it sooo versatile! When my girlfriend happened to mention that she was having a luncheon for her son's fiance and family (girls only!), I offered to pick up some party stuff for her. (You could also use the pattern for baby shower tableware.)

I had Blush Dots and Stripes tableware in mind, because its perfect for anything "Girly". I chose the "Dots" luncheon napkin and the "Stripes" 7" dessert plate and mixed it with plastic 10" plates and 12oz. cups in our solid "New Pink". I like mixing the patterns with the solids because it shows off the pattern better and gives more impact. I added some balloon bouquets in pinks and brown, M&M's (in the "magic colors" of course), with some of our little 4" clear hard plastic decorative dessert bowls (for the M&Ms)to place strategically around the room (so everyone could get to the treats!).

A pink feather boa for the future bride and just for extra fun a tiara (because who is more special than the bride to be?!?).

This pattern would also be perfect for a baby shower, a bridal shower, girls Bunko night, Mother's Day luncheon, book club...see why I love it?!?

Uses for Colored Organza Favor Pouches

Scatter sunshine with organza favor pouches! These 3"x4", drawstring bags come in a wide variety of colors so they can be used for any occassion.

When filled with candy such as jordan almonds, m&ms, or jelly beans they make a perfect take home gift for a wedding or baby shower. Use them for wedding favors, birthday party favors, bridge party favors...you get the idea.

I like to use these favor bags for gifts. Fill with a friend's favorite candy and leave on the doorstep for a "get well" or "thank-you" wish. Send them to school for a teacher appreciation gift. Use them for your random acts of kindness...keep some of these bags on hand, ready to fill and deliver!
